Carolina Naranjo Escobar
Carolina Naranjo Escobar, is an advisor on peacebuilding, human rights, development and reconciliation with more than 20 years of experience. During 2017-2019, she served as political manager and senior specialist with the U.S. State Department funded Peace Accord Matrix´s Barometer Initiative mobile team, in Bogotá, Colombia. As the manager, she analyzed and monitored implementation of the peace accord, looking specifically at the rule of law, human rights protection and law enforcement. The Barometer Initiative offers high quality assessment of the Colombian peace accords, providing foundation for reconciliation and sustainable peace. In addition, Carolina served with the United Nations during the Peace Accord negotiation process, which integrated local and international NGOs, multinational corporations, academic institutions, in various countries mainly in Latin America. Also, Carolina supervised two significant USAID programs supporting cacao cultivation in Antioquía and Nariño. The Nariño project served as an illicit crop substitution. Carolina’s academic credentials include: Master of Peace Studies from Bradford University; a diploma on Negotiation from Los Andes University; and, a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs & Finance from Externado University, Colombia.
